WHO I AM?
“A strong-willed photographer struggling to reach mysterious and undiscovered places through the analog and networked universes, not using the perfect technique as a craftsman. Rather, using the sensibility of an apprentice.” – Jorge Sato
My work is based on the conflict between unpredictability and control. Therefore, it has been selected as my creative companion out there, a Lo-Fi plastic camera. The other reason is to prove that it is possible to create something interesting using few resources. We could say it is a consecration to simplicity. Two visual approaches are the foundation of my photos: unreal and oneiric images to inspire our imagination and Romantic aesthetics to celebrate the beauty of nature-inspired by the artistic movement in the early decades of the nineteenth century.
Based in São Paulo, Brazil, Jorge Sato graduated from ESPM (Escola Superior de Propaganda & Marketing) and started working in the creative area at local advertising agencies. A year later, he got to know an Award-Winning Fine Art photographer and after working together for about three years, learning the process of the Fine Art market from conception to exhibition, Sato decided to focus on personal projects pursuing his storytelling and visual language. Despite being a young photographer, Sato has already participated in several exhibitions. He is represented by Tripolli Galeria.
